ICETE Consulting and Equipping: Training new consultants

Equipping New Consultants in Africa

The Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA) recently identified over twenty people they wanted to see trained in consulting service. They have been taking the “Consulting with Wisdom and Grace” ICETE Academy course that Perry Shaw developed, and then meeting in cohorts with some of our veteran consultants (Kevin Lawson, Ralph Enlow, Paul Sanders, Steve Hardy) to debrief the course and equip themselves further for consulting service. Most of these trainees have completed the training, with others finishing up soon. Recognizing an opportunity to provide additional training and encouragement, ICETE partnered with ACTEA to offer a three-hour seminar before their General Assembly began (Sept 25-29) on the development of some key consulting skills. Steve Hardy and Kevin Lawson led this seminar. We expected around 25 people, but over 35 attended, and the session was highly interactive and very productive. Those who had not yet taken the ICETE Academy course were encouraged to do so. We’re grateful to be able to partner with ACTEA in equipping people from their region in consulting service, and pray it bears good fruit in the years to come.
